It won’t take an evil genius to morph this motorcycle deep into the Dark Side – ordinary mad genius will suffice. The Cross Bones™ harkens to hardtails of yore – when bikes got stripped of excess weight, the parts pawned for gas or party at some Rockabilly Roadhouse. But it rides smooth with Softail family suspension – the naked rear-end no-springs look perfected by H-D over a quarter century ago. Looks rigid but rides so nice – try riding a rigid down the Ike – forget it. The Cross Bones™ can roll out to Starved Rock, the Dunes, the Palisades or just down Belmont or Archer for a lark.

Ragu’s Pick of the WeekMy pick this week is the all new 2010 Dyna Wide Glide® (FXDWG) with flames. This bike looks so hard core it’s scary to sit on! Kenn’s Bike-ographySo there I was on the inaugural run for my Road Glide®, blasting to Milwaukee to pay homage to Harley-Davidson at the H-D Museum on Canal Street. I hit cruise control & kicked back, my feet up on the handlebars, fingers clasped behind my head, stretched out like being on a chrome steel sofa sliding down the highway. The cold rain started in Kenosha & by Racine it was snowing. I had second & third thoughts, but I had already committed to the ride. Milwaukee was overcast but clear. The museum is brilliant & awe inspiring. At the gift shop, Julie helped me try on a bad-ass retro leather I’d been searching for for years. My only let down was not running into Willie G. Next time, I’m strapping my fishing rod across the handlebars & casting for salmon in the Menominee River that borders Harley’s hallowed grounds.

Kenn’s Pick of the WeekI’m going with the two 2010 FLHX Street Glide® motorcycles that have been customized by our Service Department. Both are fine examples of the possibilities that exist for your own unique, personalized look. One has the color-matched Brilliant Silver Pearl inner fairing with padded dash. The other has chromed out rims & forks. The wheels were introduced this year on the Electra Glider® Ultra Limited & just look freaking great on the Vivid Black Street Glide® in our showroom.
